Welcome,

Curious about yoga?  I'd love to introduce you to the practice of yoga - check out my Schedule page for upcoming classes!  A little bit about me and my classes:

I was introduced to yoga back in 2000 when I came across a set of Bryan Kest’s VHS tapes.  In addition to attending live classes throughout the city and whenever traveling, I moved on to a DVD series and a few OnDemand classes, and finally subscribed to a favorite online studio.  I have now been practicing yoga for 20 years.  After practicing for many years, experimenting with leading a few friends through classes, and desiring to deepen my yoga knowledge I participated in a Yoga Foundation course in 2003 through YogaFit.  In the spring of 2019 I completed my teacher training through Bryan Kest's Power Yoga Online Teacher Training (PYOTT) course.  Bryan's studio was based out of Santa Monica, CA at that time and has recently relocated to Ojai, CA.

As a result of years of practice and teacher training coursework I found a yoga style and classroom environment that spoke to me as I hope it will for you also.  I strive to provide clear instructions on simple, yet challenging, poses (no contortions or headstands).  My classes are designed to be accessible by most individuals to promote health and wellness.  My goal is to incorporate and develop the following into my classes: strength, flexibility, endurance, cardio, suppleness, gentleness, and space.  If you are unsure I encourage you to give it a try and see if you like it.  You can always hang out in child's pose or simply roll up your mat and leave at anytime if the class is not for you at this time. I hope you'll give it a try and incorporate a bit of yoga into your life!

It is called a yoga practice for a reason.  It is an opportunity to practice exploring and strengthening our abilities, both physical and mental, in the hopes that what we practiced and strengthened on the mat we will then take out into the world and apply to our daily lives.

A last bit on patience & gratitude, I am ever so grateful for the family & friends who have supported and encouraged me on this journey.  When I moved to the DC area from Chicago in 2003 I had a dream of opening a yoga studio.  16 years later, I’ve finally done it!  I would not be in this state of bliss if it weren’t for the support of my husband, my friends and my students.  Thank you!

~Namaste~
Jennifer
